Video: Becoming Utah
On January 4th, 1896, Utah became the 45th state to enter the Union. This 12 minute video traces Utah’s difficult pathway to statehood and beyond. It shows how many groups contributed to building Utah, and how they raised their voices to secure their rights.
Remember: A good museum visitor…
- Follows museum guidelines: Please pay attention to any rules or instructions. These are in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors.
- Is considerate of others: Use inside voices and walking feet while in the museum. Be kind to other visitors and mindful of personal space.
- Is respectful of the artifacts: Do not touch objects on display unless explicitly permitted. Maintain a safe distance and avoid leaning on display cases or barriers.
- Stays with their group: This ensures safety and the open exchange of ideas, questions, and knowledge among all participants.
- Leaves no trace: Help keep the museum clean and well-maintained for future visitors by not eating, drinking, or chewing gum in the galleries, and dispose of any trash properly.
- Engages actively: Observe carefully, ask questions, and think about what you are seeing and how it connects to what you already know.
