Announcement: On August 29, 2025, the Utah Historical Society will temporarily end reference services and close the Engagement Room at 7292 South State Street in Midvale, so our staff can begin preparing for the move to the new Museum of Utah. We will continue to provide updates as this work progresses.
In the meantime, the Engagement Room remains open to the public. Appointments are available Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If you would like to schedule an appointment, or have questions about access to services during our move, please email us at [email protected] or call (801) 245-7227.

No. Utah government records are accessible through the Utah State Archives, located at 346 S. Rio Grande Street in Salt Lake City, UT. To contact State Archives for information requests or for in-person research appointments, email archivesreference@utah.
