The Utah Professional Archaeological Council is an affiliated society of the Register of Professional Archaeologists… which means that UPAC members can take advantage of this incredible grant opportunity!
Here is some information from their website, you can also download the PDF from the Register of Professional Archaeologists.
The Register recognizes that the global COVID-19 pandemic has created unique challenges to the public education and outreach efforts of our Affiliated Societies. Thus, we are offering five $1,000 grants to support this endeavor.
Who is eligible? Any Affiliated Society in good standing with the Register and up to date with their annual dues. All Affiliated Society members involved in the project must also be in good standing with the Register and up to date with their annual dues.
What is supported? Any public education and outreach effort. Grant monies can be used for materials (e.g., software, printing costs), stipends for guest lecturers, wages for intern assistance (e.g., developing printed materials, updating education sections of society websites), and other direct costs. Individual project needs are unique and all requests will be considered.
How do I apply? Submit the attached cover sheet as well as a proposal of no more than two pages that addresses: (a) The public education and outreach effort; (b) How the endeavor connects to the Register’s Code of Conduct; (c) A proposed timeline for the project. Projects must be completed in 2021; (d) A budget and justification for what the grant will support; and (e) What metrics you will use to measure your success. Supplement your proposal with a one-page cv for the Affiliated Society members who will be involved in the undertaking. What is the deadline? 5 pm EST on Monday, March 22, 2021.
How do I submit my proposal? Please send it via email to [email protected] as a single PDF attachment.
How will my proposal be evaluated? The Executive Team will review all proposals and choose which projects will be supported.
When will I be notified? Notification will be sent to all who submitted a proposal by March 30, 2021.
Are there other expectations of which I should be aware? The Register will announce the grant winners via social media. Awardees will be expected to share their project via social media as well. All activity promotions, materials, and updates must acknowledge the Register’s support for the endeavor. A high-resolution Register logo will be provided to all recipients for this purpose. A brief summary report of funded projects is due within 60 days of the project’s conclusion.
Who should I contact if I have questions? Executive Director Deb Rotman will be happy to answer your questions. She can be reached at [email protected].
