The Gerrard House in Taylorsville, Salt Lake County, Utah, is significant at the local level under Criterion C and within the area of Architecture. The period of significance is limited to 1906, which is when the dwelling and contributing pump house were constructed. Under Criterion C, the Gerrard House is significant for its strong representation of vernacular Victorian Eclectic architecture in the dwelling on the property and in the vernacular architecture of the pump house. The dwelling is one of the only a few known 2-story Central-Block-with-Projecting-Bays-type buildings in Taylorsville that exhibit Victorian Eclectic style and retain substantial integrity of materials, design, and workmanship in spite of an out-of-period rear deck. The house stands out as an architectural landmark on the major street where it is situated. The dwelling and grounds of the property are currently used as a community heritage center and museum highlighting the history of the property and the broader history of Taylorsville.
