Interested in helping protect and preserve Utah’s heritage? Become a Site Steward!
Stewards monitor the condition of at-risk archaeological and other heritage resources, looking for signs of natural or man-made damage or deterioration. They may also interact with the public to enhance visitor experiences and increase understanding of and respect towards heritage resources. Stewards adhere to a Code of Conduct which demonstrates their commitment to protecting and preserving heritage resources.
Heritage resources include traditional cultural places (places of importance to Native Americans or to other ethnic and cultural groups) archaeological sites, prehistoric and historic structures, trails, and paleontological resources. Heritage resources are fragile and nonrenewable: once they’re gone, they are lost forever.
