1. Overview
The Utah Historical Society (“UHS”), a division of the State of Utah, operates a one-way mobile emergency notification system for staff members of the Museum of Utah (MOU), Division of Indian Affairs (DIA), and Division of Arts & Museums (A&M) at the North Capitol Building. We are committed to protecting your privacy and managing your mobile contact information responsibly.
2. Mobile Information Collection & Use
Mobile phone numbers and consent data are collected internally through an employee onboarding form. This information is used exclusively by authorized agency administrators (Museum of Utah Director and Operations Manager) to broadcast critical life-safety warnings, facility alerts, active threat guidance, and emergency notifications.
3. Privacy & Non-Sharing Commitment
Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent data will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
4. Data Protection & Security
Your mobile contact details are stored securely within State of Utah administrative systems and access is strictly restricted to designated emergency notification personnel.
5. Opt-Out & Support
- Opt-Out: You may opt out of receiving text notifications at any time by replying STOP to any text message, or by contacting agency administrators.
- Help: Reply HELP to any message or contact agency administrators for assistance or questions regarding this system.
6. Parent Privacy Policy
This SMS Privacy Policy complements the overarching Department of Cultural & Community Engagement Privacy Policy, which can be viewed at https://community.utah.gov/privacy-policy/.
