Background Note

The Sharp Land & Fruit Company existed from ca. 1890-1923. John C. Sharp, along with his sons James P. Sharp and Joseph P. Sharp, created a thriving agricultural business in the Tooele, Utah area. The family closed the business a few years after the death of their father John C. Sharp in 1921.

Biographical Chronology

1850 John C. Sharp was born 28 May on the banks of the Kaw River in Nebraska while his parents were journeying towards Utah.
1874Joseph P. Sharp was born on 5 September.
1877James P. Sharp was born on 17 August.
1921John C. Sharp died on 21 February.
1959Joseph P. Sharp died on 9 December.
1968James P. Sharp died on 30 December.
