Born in Salt Lake City, Due was an attorney, former administrative assistant to Senators Frank Moss (Utah) and Howard Metzenbaum (Ohio), long time Utah Democratic party activist and civic leader. She also worked for the U.S. Department of the Interior, Anaconda Company and the American Mining Congress. She was the author of numerous legal articles on federal oil and gas leases and access to public lands.
