HISTORY OF THE SHIVWITS PAIUTE RESERVATION – LEO LYMAN

December 13, 2019 @ 5:00 am - 6:00 am

Please join us this Friday, December 13 in welcoming Leo Lyman as our guest speaker. His presentation will focus primarily on events in local history that culminated in the creation of the Shivwits Paiute reservation.

Edward Leo Lyman was born in Delta Ut in 1942 and went on to attend College of Southern Utah (CSU) and in May of 1966 received a Master of Science Degree in History from Brigham Young University (BYU). He then received a Master of Science Degree in History form the University of Utah in 1967 (GO UTES).  He taught at California State University, Riverside and at Victor Valley College (where he is Emeritus Professor of History). In 1969 he moved to Riverside CA and while teaching there, he became a local history buff.

After 17 years in California he moved to Silver Reef UT in 2004. He continues to be a very active historian here in the southwest. In 2007, he took over as the Utah State Director of the Old Spanish Trail Association (OSTA).

With Leo Lyman’s caliber of expertise and knowledge of history this will be a great lecture to attend and we encourage you to sign up soon.

As always, we look forward to seeing you this Friday, December13 at 12 pm (noon) for another chapter of the Marilyn Davis Brown Bag Series Lecture Series.
