With the help of a grant from the Office of Museum Services the Utah State Historical Society stepped forward during the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympic Games to collect and preserve artifacts and other historical materials as a legacy of the Games. The collection is a permanent record for future generations to enjoy. Contributions were made by state agencies, corporations and corporate sponsors, Salt Lake City, and residents. The collection includes oral histories and photographs from people who participated in or witnessed Games’ events. Hundreds of items from the collection can be viewed online.
