What to send SHPO
- A cover sheet (RTF)
- A letter asking for the SHPO to concur with the federal agency's determinations of Eligibility and Effect. The agency should make its own determinations and not ask the SHPO to make the initial evaluation.
- Locational information in township and range, with attached USGS map.
- A description of the project and an explanation of its impacts.
- Research design.
- Known archaeological information. See information about how to search State History’s site and project files.
Linear sites guidelines (roads, railroads, etc.)
Recommendations on compliance made by the Utah Professional Archaeological Council (UPAC)and endorsed by SHPO (UPAC website)
Find an archaeological contractor/consultant
