The Peoples of Utah
People of many cultures and ethnicities have traveled through the Utah area or settled here.
The Peoples of Utah collection contains images that show some of this great diversity. Helen Papanikolas collected and donated these photographs. The collection mainly includes:
- African Americans and Blacks (different photos were labeled different ways)
- Middle Eastern - Armenians and Lebanese
- Southern Europeans - Italians, Greeks, Yugoslavs
- Central Europeans - French, Scots, British, Dutch, Swiss
- Scandinavians and Icelanders
- Spanish-speaking peoples
- Asians - Chinese and Japanese
- Jews
- American Indians - Ute, Goshute, Paiute, and Navajo
