Utah Preservation Magazine

State History, in cooperation with FyveStar, produced ten issues of UTAH PRESERVATION: BUILDING ON THE PAST. Through text and photographs, these magazines highlight highlight preservation projects around the state, showing how individual projects reach completion through different routes. Of interest to all who care about historical structures, Utah Preservation: Building on the Past is also a resource for those actively involved in preservation projects.

A PDF of Volume 10 is available online. Tables of contents of volumes 1-9 are available below; the issues themselves can be accessed at our Research Center.

Volume 10
Tenth Anniversary Issue

For ten years, Utah Preservation: Building on the Past has celebrated the diversity of historic preservation across the state of Utah. The magazine has chronicled the major restoration projects of the last decade, including the Utah Governor's Mansion, Peery's Egyptian Theatre, the Brigham Young Academy, and the Utah State Capitol. It has also showcased history and historic preservation in unexpected places: neon skyscrapers, and many archaeological sites.

Behind all of these buildings, projects, and sites are people who care about them, document them, nurture them, sacrifice for them, and stand up for them. On the tenth anniversary of Utah Preservation: Building on the Past, the Division of State History and Utah Heritage Foundation thank all the people who made the projects featured in the magazine over the last decade possible. We also thank the many advertisers who supported the magazine each year. And a special thanks to you, our reader, for sharing in our celebration of historic preservation.
