Description
The National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) has posted a new feature on cultural tourism on its Web site. This feature is an opportunity for organizations and agencies to share models, post news items, find recent trends and use a list of links and other resources. NASAA will maintain and provide editorial oversight of the site in collaboration with its national partners.
Among the information you will find here is Creating an Action Agenda for Cultural tourism in the States and Regions. This includes a brief overview of each of the six Cultural Tourism Leadership Forums held between November 1996 and April 1997 and each participating state's action agenda.
How to Use This Tool
NASAA encourages you to use the site and assist in developing this site so that it can fulfill the charge of the White House Conference on Travel and Tourism to create a "clearinghouse for information" for the tourism, culture and heritage industries.
Three things your organization or agency can do in this regard:
- Send NASAA your calendar items on cultural tourism conferences or events and suggest new links for the resource section.
- Submit news items or models on cultural tourism to be included in the state spotlight.
- Collect data that highlights the significance of tourism, especially cultural tourism.
