How to Use This Tool
Grants, which be provided in the range of $5,000 - $50,000, depending on the number of heritage areas or corridors applying. The total available for all heritage areas is $50,000. Grants will be selected on a competitive basis by the Cultural Heritage Council (CHC). Applications must be received no later than June 15th. The grants will be awarded in July and will begin when contracts have been executed, approximately August 1st. A second round of grants may be provided at a later date, should funds be available.
All grants require a one-to-one cash match. Matching funds must be directly and demonstrably related to the grant and occur during the grant period. Cash expenditures may be for any direct purchase of items used in the project or program, such as film, tape, printing costs, storage containers, etc.
Successful applicants will sign a contract with terms to be negotiated. The contract will identify the program or project goals, including all products and other specific conditions. All contracts require compliance with state fiscal and reporting standards.
The Division of State History will handle grants administration. However the grants will be coordinated thru a partnership committee established in the Department of Community and Culture called the CHC (Cultural Heritage Council).
