Description
Financial and technical assistance to forest-dependent communities for heritage tourism and historic preservation. Typical grant size is $5,000-$10,000; seldom over $20,000. Can cover planning, research and development, and materials. Proposals must be identified in a local or county plan and have a 20% local match (may be in-kind). Coordination through county government is recommended.
Example: A $10,000 grant was awarded to the Four Corners Heritage Council for development of a plan for the Trails of the Ancients in southeastern Utah in 1994.
