Utah Mining Heritage Alliance
The Utah Mining Heritage Alliance (UMHA) is a partnership among private industry, federal, state, and local agencies, non-profit organizations, local historic and civic communities, and citizens working together to improve the image of mining.
The focus of UMHA is to use mining heritage and history as an avenue to allow residents and tourists to learn about and appreciate the past and the current mining industry in an experiential, entertaining, and engaging way.
One of the major joint marketing projects of the UMHA was a website with history, maps, and information on mining sites throughout Utah.
This partnership is an example of how other communities can partner in developing a theme.
