		  <p>The annual Preservation photograph contest for 2000 was to document
			 "Main Street." Main Street has been traditionally the "heart" of the town, but
			 has disappeared over time due to strip developments at the edge of towns, as
			 well as regional shopping centers and growth of suburbs. Locally owned stores
			 can no longer compete with big box stores. The purpose of this contest was to
			 capture the essence of the flavor of disappearing "main streets." </p> 
		  <p>Contestants from around the state submitted over 140 architectural
			 images of "Main Street." The winning entries were published in 
		  <title render="italic">Utah Preservation Magazine</title>, vol. 5.</p>
