		<abstract>David Day was born in Layton, Utah 1 May 1896. He attended
		  Layton public schools and farmed with his father. He entered the service 9
		  August 1918 and was sent to Camp Fremont, California. He was eventually sent
		  east and died of the Spanish influenze and pneumonia at the Military Hospital
		  at Camp Mills, New York. He was given a military funeral, 10 November 1918, in
		  the Kaysville Cemetery. He was the first soldier to be returned and intered in
		  the Cemetery. Ada Elizabeth Day Finfrock was born 11 March 1898 in Layton,
		  Utah. She attended school at the University of Utah and UCLA. She married John
		  Quincy Finfrock 27 December 1933 in Yuma, Arizona. She was employed as a civil
		  service worker with the Department of the Army before her retirement. She died
		  10 June 1984 and is buried in the Kaysville Cemetery. The collection consists
		  of letters written to Ada Elizabeth Day from Layton, Utah soldiers during World
		  War I. Also contains the legal papers concerning the death of David Day from
		  the Spanish influenza.</abstract>
