Comments:Records Status: Cemetery records are non-existent. The only records of deaths are from the Register of Enlistments and Regimental Returns for the soldiers at Camp Floyd maintained by the War Department and located at the National Archives. Map Information: We have multiple maps. Some are views of the cemetery in relation to the rest of Camp Floyd and some are maps of the cemetery itself. Additional Info: Army cemetery for Camp Floyd established in 1858. Last used in 1861, as the camp was abandoned due to the beginning of the Civil War. 84 headstones were placed by the American Legion in 1960. In reality, there are probably only as many as 47 burials according to Army records. Ground penetrating radar was conducted in 2009 and located 35 burials. There may be others, as the radar only went to the modern fence, whereas the old fence has about 2 more feet around. But it's not likely that as many as 12 more burials would be found.
