Make sure that rock art rules forever!
All you have to do is follow these simple rules yourself and teach others to follow these rules, too!
- Don't touch the rock art with your hands. You might rub paint off, and the natural oil in your fingers could damage the site forever.
- If you find loose rocks with paintings on them, don't remove them or take them home. Do tell authorities because many museums preserve such rock art.
- If you notice that a painting has been losing color, don't try to repaint it. This will definitely ruin the pictographs. Many pictographs fade due to age and weathering.
- Don't write, paint, or scratch any initials, names, or other graffiti on the art. This wrecks it forever!Do take pictures and draw sketches so that you can show your friends what you have found.
