2008 Utah Prehistory Week Poster

Millions of years before the first human beings migrated to the Utah area 11,000 years ago, this was a land teeming with prehistoric animals.

During Utah Prehistory Week (the first week in May), you'll have a chance to learn about paleontology (the study of fossils, including dinosaurs) and also archaeology (the study of past human cultures).

Utah Prehistory Week is scheduled for May 3rd - May 10th, 2008.  Celebrate Utah's rich and diverse prehistory at events that are held all over the state--events such as tours to important archaeological and paleontological sites, free public lectures, museum tours, and many hands-on events. This year Utah State History kicks-off the week with a Prehistory Open House on May 3, 2008.
