Articles on either prehistoric
or historic archaeological research are acceptable, and both are encouraged. All articles must be factual technical writing
with some archaeological application.
The journal is sponsored by the Utah Statewide Archaeological Society (USAS); the
Utah Professional Archaeological Council (UPAC); the Mountain West Center for Regional Studies, Utah State University;
and the Utah Division of State History. The journal is published annually.
Authors submitting manuscripts are requested to follow Society for American Archaeology (SAA) style in text references
and bibliography (see October 1992 issue of American Antiquity). If you do not have access to a copy of this style guide
please contact the editor of Utah Archaeology for a copy.
Authors are asked to submit one hard copy and
one disk copy of their manuscripts. A clear statement of exact formats used on disk copy must accompany the submission
of the manuscript. The authors are requested to refrain from the use of hard page breaks and margins in order to facilitate final formatting for publication. Manuscripts should be in 10 pt. font, single spaced, and included an abstract if intended for
use as an article.

All categories of papers are highly encouraged. We seek submissions from government agencies, private agencies and avocational organizations equally.
Authors are responsible for figure and photo production. Figures and photographs should be of publishable quality, as Utah Archaeology will not be held responsible for making them presentable. Authors should submit a hard copy of all figures and photographs. If desired, a disk copy of figures and photographs may be submitted provided that the format used is clearly stated on the disk.
All submissions will be reviewed by at least two (2) outside reviewers, to be chosen based on manuscript topic. Upon completion of outside reviews the author will be sent reviewers' comments. The final revised edition of all manuscripts will
be considered the final edition and no further changes will be accepted.
