Background Note

Judith (Judy) Adair grew up in Colombia and Venezuela, but came to
Salt Lake City for the first time with her parents in 1950. Her early junior
high years were disjointed, as she moved with her family back and forth between
Salt Lake City and Venezuela as her father finished work obligations overseas.
Eventually the family permanently settled in Salt Lake City.

Adair was active in many organizations at Horace Mann Junior High
School, Irving Junior High School, and South High School. She was a member of
the International Order of Job's Daughters, Bethel No. 1, and her high school
 activities included the following:

Student Affairs (1953-1955)

House of Delegates (1955)

Pep Club (1954)

Social Dance Club

Spanish Club President

Roller Skating Club

Social Arts Club

Bowling Club

Christmas Dance (1953-1954)

Southerner Ad Staff (1955)

Scribe Staff

School Play (1955)

Soon after graduation from South High School in 1955, Adair left
Salt Lake City to attend college in Denver and New York City.
